WELCOME TO HOMESCHOOL HARVEST

  • Homeschooling is a big commitment. I’m here to shine a light and encourage you on this journey.

  • Just as there are no two children or families alike, there are no two homeschool days alike. No, it's not perfect but God uses it all.

  • Your family is unique! That is the beauty of homeschooling - we can be unique in our approach. Know that if God has called you, He will equip you.

  • Take a look around. Enjoy my blog. Check out some resources. Research a new curriculum. Relax and be of good courage, Mom!

Who We Are...

Homeschool Harvest has been many years in the making.

I’ve been homeschooling my four children for about 15 years. I have three boys - ages 19, 18, and 12; and one girl - age 9. My oldest is in college and my second oldest is a senior in public high school. I’ve always homeschooled, but have also - at different times - done public school, private Christian school, and community college dual enrollment.

One of the biggest blessings of home education is recognizing that God made each of our children unique, as He's made all of us. We all have different strengths, dreams, gifts, and needs. At home, we get to really be a student of our children, learning what makes them tick, and helping them to grow in the Lord and the gifts and plans He has for them. It is fun to explore what our children are interested in and gifted at, and provide opportunities to see them grow and enjoy life!

I'm a self-confessed curriculum junkie. If you can name it, I've probably tried it! I like to switch things up, try new things. I used to feel it was a negative, but I've learned that it's ok to keep things fresh and interesting. We can learn about so many different topics! Math is a steady around here, and so is a current read-aloud and independent reading. Everything else is flexible. I'll write more about our methods in another post, so look forward to that.

We’ve experienced many ups and downs, good days and bad days. But I‘m here to tell you, there is light at the end of the tunnel! God is good! He can bring beauty from the ashes of our mistakes. And definitely shows Himself strong in our weakness. In spite of all my mistakes and short-comings, I am seeing the fruit of homeschooling. And you will too! Come along as we reap a harvest of blessing!
